According to Konami the delay was announced for the sheer volume of global traffic causing problems for the beta program, which meant they were ”unable to run the service to the level we expected.”
A fresh announcement will be made tomorrow say Konami on the 22nd with hopefully some good news.
”We would like to thank all players for their keen interest in taking part in the beta test,” read the announcement.
”However, we regret to inform you that due to extraordinary levels of traffic from all around the globe, we have been unable to run the service to the level we expected.”
Both the US and European website for Metal Gear Online have their own notices but both have a ”TBA” on their restart dates. To make up for this lost time the beta period has been extended from the 6th of May till the 11th.
