The game fully utilizes the Xbox One cloud, so it’s an always-online game designed for four player co-op; this was the game that was long-rumored to be a Fable MMO. During the Xbox One demo on stage, one player was a princely fighter, another was an archer, and rounding out the team was a female barbarian and a magic user armed with slow time spells.
“Four player co-op” is a little misleading, however, in that a fifth player can take on the role of the villain, viewing the map from a top-down perspective and seeding enemies, traps, ambushes and other challenges for the human players to deal with.
The game will also allow solo play, with AI taking on the roles of the other characters and villain, but the game will remain online.
There’s no release date for Fable Legends, therefore not a launch title. Stay tuned for more info as it comes.
