That Dragon, Cancer was originally intended as an Ouya exclusive, but with the Android console dropping out of the news in recent months, creator Ryan Green has decided to set up a Kickstarter campaign to finish and release the game on PC and Mac.
The game is a tribute to Green’s son Joel, who passed away in march of this year at the age of five, after a four-year battle with cancer.
That Dragon, Cancer is an accessible adventure game that lets you experience several key scenes in the life of a family raising a child with cancer.
Green and his colleague Josh Larson are looking for $85,000 to complete work on That Dragon, Cancer. The money will be used to add three scenes to the game, and to finish polishing and refining the existing content. There’s a budget breakdown on the campaign page to show where the money will go. That’s a good idea by the way, other Kickstarter users, so think about doing that.
There’s a bunch of backer options on the campaign page, including various pledge levels. That Dragon, Cancer has raised just over $25,000 of its $85,000 goal, with 29 days left to go on the campaign.
