Nowhere Studios announced today that Monochroma, its ”cinematic dystopian puzzle platformer”, will be released for Windows PC, Mac and Linux on Steam on May 28.
Monochroma takes place in an alternate future 1950s. When two boys witness a murder committed by an evil corporation, they must work together to ”progress past mind-bending puzzles and save the world from tyranny”.
The game is partially inspired by the developers’ memories of the violently oppressed “Gezi Protests” of 2013, which took place in Istanbul. Expect various physics-based puzzles and a rich, if slightly depressing, washed-out dystopian setting.
