Developer Star Theory Games has clarified its stance on microtransactions and loot boxes in its upcoming space flight simulator Kerbal Space Program 2.
A long-awaited sequel, Kerbal Space Program 2 was officially unveiled during Gamescom 2019 as part of its Opening Night Event. However, given how the IP is currently owned by Take-Two Interactive, fans began to speculate online regarding the potential addition of microtransactions and loot boxes to the sandbox title.

To put an end to speculation, Kerbal Space Program 2 developer Star Theory has assured fans several times that they have nothing to worry about regarding the two maligned monetization methods.
“We can confirm that there will be no in-game currency or loot boxes,” it said. The response then goes on to clarify how the aim with Kerbal Space Program 2’s post-launch support is to follow a similar pattern to that of the original title.
