If you pay attention to most of the objects in No Man's Sky, especially during the night, you'll probably notice the strange lighting effect that shows up on all of them. From plants to animals and every object around, this effect gives a weird glow to all objects even when a direct source of light isn't apparent. This mod removes that weird lighting effect from around all things, giving them a natural dullness that they really ought to have when a light source isn't beating down upon them.

The cool blue/teal lines of space stations might look fine for many of you, but for some, the color might just build along the cold darkness of space. For those of you looking for a warmer look that drives home that feel of coming in from the infinite abyss, this mod just might supply what you're looking for. It replaces the teal lines with red ones, giving an overall warmer look to space stations. After all, these places are meant to be a secure sanctuary from the depths of space exploration. They should feel just a bit more cozy.

This mod is for those of you who get annoyed with the fade-in graphical effect that No Man's Sky employs when you're flying rapidly across a planetary surface. Rather than allow pop-in of textures and models to happen gradually, terrain morphing is instantaneous with this mod. Surfaces will appear in their procedurally generated and explorable state the moment you come in range of them rather than slowly building up to them as you get closer.

This mod is a little something made for those of us with nostalgic tastes. It revamps the vision when using the binoculars/scanner to a 80's style scanline texture with video recording information on the screen. It's a rather interesting and creative little interface that reminds of old-school video recording displays from 1990s and '80s home video cameras. If you're into that home movie style or if you're a bit of a hipster that enjoys the mixing of old and new aesthetics, this mod is well worth it.

No Man's Sky was sold to all of us on a promise of exploring worlds with larger than life creatures upon them. Unfortunately, the reality of the game is that you usually bump into small insects and medium mammals wherever you go. To heck with that. • Posted almost 10 years ago
  • 2 downloads

This mod is set towards improving the overall performance of your game. It does this by removing the shadow effect entirely from No Man's Sky, which actually takes up quite a bit of the memory. Considering everything casts a shadow, even the clouds, the game spends a lot on keeping the integrity of all shadows on these vast planets intact. With shadows gone you'll see a pretty decent increase in the smoothness of the overall experience on whatever settings you're using.

No Man's Sky Fast Actions

  • [Mod]
  • Posted almost 10 years ago

No Man's Sky has a somewhat annoying way about confirming all options in the game. Rather than approach something and instantly interact with it, almost everything requires you to approach, wait for a prompt, and hold the button until the interaction occurs. This mod is set towards removing this general waste of time. All actions will now occur instantly upon a button press, rather than filling a wheel before occurring.

No Man's Sky Colorful Warp

  • [Mod]

A simple, yet beautiful addition the game. When you warp in No Man's Sky regularly, the warp tunnel is almost always a golden and somewhat ugly color. This mod reworks the warp visuals into a more rainbow-like effect. It's not so vibrant that it will strain your eyes, but it is a fantastic replacement for the game's regular feeling of warping through urine-colored cosmos.

No Man's Sky is a foggy game. In many games, such as early shooters, this was meant to obscure visual flaws from the player. Unfortunately, No Man's Sky is far out enough that you'll still see quite a few, and it doesn't serve much of an atmospheric purpose to the overall sights. This mod gets rid of it. No more. Nada. Now you can see as far as the game will render and enjoy a clear and unclouded view of the universe.

The icons are a little boring in No Man's Sky. They do their job okay, but they're pretty much bland, not to mention obstructive to the visuals of the game. This mod is aimed at making them a little bit more visually appealing, as well as more transparent so as to not clutter up your screen with annoyingly bold markers.
