Microsoft has announced that its Entertainment & Devices Division (EDD), which is responsible for the Xbox console, Wndows Phone and Surface devices, has shown a profit in its fiscal 3rd quarter, which ended on the 31st March.
The division raised $2.53B in revenue, which is a massive 56% increase over the same period last year. The EDD enjoyed an operating income of $342M, which was up from $242M loss of last year.
The sales of the Xbox 360 declined, with 9M units sold, down from the 12M of last year. However, Xbox Live membership rose 18% over last year, with 46M members. Microsoft did not reveal how many were paid Gold subscribers.
The Xbox 360 led console sales in the US in March 2013 for the 27th straight month.
